Does a netbook meet the CCI requirements?

Netbooks currently do not meet the minimum laptop specifications. While specs vary from vendor to vendor, the processor included in today’s netbooks is simply not powerful enough to meet the wide range of computing needs. The Intel Atom processor was designed to provide an affordable, portable internet experience. Although netbooks are capable of browsing the internet and checking email they cannot provide the same experience you would expect from a full size laptop or desktop computer. These devices can be a great companion to a full size computer but should not be used as a replacement. Because of the limited processing power, these devices are not provided with a current operating system but rather limited to Windows XP and Linux. Processing power is the most obvious shortfall but netbooks generally lack in screen size, screen resolution, hard drive size and memory.

Please check our Minimum Laptop Specifications page for a detailed breakdown of requirements.
